Although the Casino de Monte-Carlo is the best known casino in Monte Carlo, there are three other casinos in the principality. Each has a distinctive personality.

Le Café de Paris

Le Café de Paris, on the Place du Casino, has 1,200 slot machines; patrons may play these machines after 10:00 a.m. The casino is open for other kinds of gambling after 5 p.m.

There are a total of 15 table games, including American roulette, baccarat, blackjack, chemin de fer, craps, electronic roulette, and punto banco. The minimum age for gambling is 21. Guests are asked to wear "proper dress." Decorations here call to mind the Monte Carlo of the end of the nineteenth century.

Le Sun Casino

The circus-themed Sun Casino, located in the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel, is probably the Monte Carlo casino that is most like the gaming facilities located in Las Vegas. The Sun Casino is open every day. There is no admission fee. Patrons must be at least 18 years old. Blackjack, craps and American roulette are offered after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and after 4:00 p.m. on weekends. There are 450 slot machines, which are available for play after 11:00 a.m.

There are 27 tables games or those who want to play baccarat, American roulette, blackjack, chemin de fer, craps, and punto banco. Although the dress code at the Sun Casino is not as stringent as that at the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the Sun Casino does ask that patrons wear "proper dress."

Le Sporting Monte-Carlo

Monte Carlo Sporting Club & Casino on the Avenue Princess Grace is open only in the summers. The casino is open from 10 p.m. until closing, starting the last Friday in June and going through the middle of September. The casino has 62 slot machines and 24 table games, including roulette, baccarat, banque a tout va, blackjack, chemin de fer, craps, English roulette, French roulette, and punto banco.

There is an entrance fee; patrons must be at least 21 years old in order to enter. Men are asked to wear a tie and jacket. Additionally, the Sporting Club has a private salon for high rollers.
